What is the likelihood I will have to go to court? The Administrative Office of the Courts tracks the number of cases filed and tried for each county in the state. In Davidson County last year, 2,157 tort cases were filed. Tort cases are claims for personal injury or wrongful death. Of the 2,157 tort cases filed, only 51 went to trial. Of those 51 trials, the injured party won 33 of them. As you can see, very few cases actually go to trial, and we know our clients do not relish the thought of going to court so we make every effort to settle your case, if we can do so for an amount that is fair to you and your family.
