The alcohol-impaired crash rate was 20th and the speeding crash rate was 52nd. For young drivers, ages 15 to 24, the crash rate for Dickson County was 18th. Older drivers (65+) in Dickson County fared no better as their crash rate was 17th.

Dickson County Judges and Court Information

If it is necessary for us to file a lawsuit on your behalf, Dickson County is in the 23rd Judicial District, which also includes Cheatham, Houston, Humphreys and Stewart counties. The trial courts in the 23rd Judicial District are presided over by:

All civil cases in Circuit Court are heard by one of these individuals. The 23rd Judicial District has promulgated Local Rules, which control such things as appearance of counsel, continuances of cases, setting of trials, motion dates, etc. A copy of the Local Rules for the 23rd Judicial District can be found here.

For the 2010-2011 reporting period, only 51 tort cases (claims for injury or death) were filed in Dickson County and none of those cases went to trial. For the 2011-2012 reporting period, 52 tort cases were filed in Dickson County and again none of those cases went to trial. For 2012-2013, 45 tort cases were filed in Dickson County but none of those cases went to trial. For 2013-2014, 44 tort cases were filed and, yet again, not a single tort case was tried. Again in 2015-2016, 47 tort cases were filed and, for the fifth straight year, not a single tort case was tried in Dickson County. For 2016-2017, only 2 cases were filed, and again not a single tort case was tried in Dickson County.  For the calendar year 2017-2018, Dickson County saw large jump in filings with 84 but still no tort cases were tried.  For 2018-2019, Dickson County tort filings went down slightly to 68 but no tort cases were tried. The last year referenced for this data is the 2018-2019 reporting period.
